Milestones of Negros First Cyber Center

The Negros First Cyber Center is among the most celebrated structures in Bacolod City and also in Negros Occidental. While there are still things that need to be done to it, the project, during its construction phase enjoyed a lot of milestones.

Before, Gov. Alfredo Marañon has actually invited the officials of the Province of Negros Occidental to come and visit Cyber Center. He invited the Vice Gov. Eugenio Lacson, along with many other Board members of the province. Since the vice governor wasn’t there, his executive assistant, Jonathan Lobato. At the time of invitation, the vice governor, as he was in Manila at that time.

During the meeting, the governor showcased and defined the great potentials that the Cyber Centre has especially so when it comes to boosting various industries in the city and province, such as the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. There are also officials who highly contributed to the success of the Cyber Center. These officials include City Councilor Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue. She used to be the provincial government consultant on Information Technology.

Cyber Centre also has a second phase. This time around it will be located in Hernaez-Lacson Streets. This phase is just like the two and would also required a huge amount for completion around P180 million. At that time, the governor mentioned that when Cyber Centre becomes fully operational, it will certainly give the growth of the economy a huge boost.

The Cyber Centre also has been fully inaugurated by no less than the President Aquino. The President even reiterated during his speech that the income that the Cyber Center will be bringing will go straight to the coffers of the government, increasing the revenue of he province.

Those investors that will be making their investments in the area will be able to avail of economic zone incentives, which can truly help their businesses.

Today, it is home to many IT professionals, and soon once all spaces are rented out, more and more people will benefit from it.
